“As long is God is on my side, I can do anything!”  Ben Underwood

How committed are you to live out your dreams?

He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.  (Psa. 62:2; NLT)

As those of you know who have been with us from the outset, I am always blessed to pass along stories of people who have overcome great adversity to succeed (however they define success).  In fact, the very first story of such an individual that I featured (DG 11/30/07) was about a young blind man named Ben Underwood who had developed the incredible ability to “see with sound” using the technique of echolocation, a navigational skill used by bats and dolphins.

Apparently there have been some new developments and I thought you would be interested to see what has been going on in Ben’s life.  Today I’m including two links.  One is a video update from Ben’s own web site.  If I may quote from it: “‘I want everyone to know that I owe everything to God and all my faith is in Him. As long is God is on my side, I can do anything!’ Whenever Ben has to go through difficulties with cancer, or any other life event, he says ‘God just tells me to kick back and relax.’ Ben is very active in his church youth group, and he loves talking to people both young and old about how important it is to have faith in God. Ben and his mom Aqua travel several times a year and speaks at churches, sharing their testimony. All this in an effort to give all the Glory to God. Here is a clip from a visit to New Hope Christian Fellowship in Honolulu, Hawaii.”

The second link is to a newspaper story about Ben from the Sacramento Bee and his use of glyconutrient technology in his ongoing battle with retinoblastoma .  (Many of our readers are familiar with this technology and will find the article incredibly biased–but, then again, that’s the same Mainstream Media that recently came out against water that Sharon wrote about last month (DG 4/10/08).

I’d better get this published…we’re having some pretty bizarre weather here right now along with some tornado warnings.  We just may lose power here before long.

Prayer Power
Lord, we thank You for Ben Underwood’s faith.  We thank You for people like Ben who inspire us to stay close to You and to allow You to work with our lives no matter what giants are before us.
