“All seeds–thoughts, goals, ideas, and other invisible forces of emotion and desire–have an incubation period before they are physically manifested.”  Seni Hazzan

As you review the past week, were the majority of seeds sown good or bad?

So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them.  (Gen. 1.27; NLT)

As I said when I started this series (8/6), in my reading over the past several years, I’ve been exposed to many lists of so-called irrefutable laws.  Of all those lists, I have found the list of nine by Hazzan (from his book, Rebuilding from Ground Zero) to be the most useful and consistent with my Christian world view.  I thought I would share one or two of those fundamental laws through the next several DGs.  Don’t forget to leave comments as you feel led.

Aka the law of multiplication, the law of reproduction is described by Hazzan with these words, “This law states that every seed has within itself the capacity to multiply once planted.  Thus, every seed always produces a multiplied harvest–thirtyfold, sixtyfold, a hundredfold, or even more depending on the faith of believer, or the quality of the soil.  Whatever seeds we sow, whether good or bad, the harvest will come back to us in abundance.”

Hmmmm, we seem to be going from bad to worse.  This law is an amplifier for the previous law of seed and harvest.  If we sow a bad seed, we will not only get a bad harvest back, but we will get an abundant bad harvest.  But, let’s turn that around…a small good seed can (and will according to this law) produce an abundant good harvest.  Are you beginning to see the value in understanding these laws?  The more you understand them, the more you can use them to advantage.  They’re always at work, whether we understand them or not.  So it seems to be to our great advantage to take a little time to understand them.

Also included in this law is the concept of gestation period.  Again, Hazzan explains, “When you put this law to work by focusing on an idea or the image of a goal being achieved in your mind, you must keep in mind that a period of time must elapse before the idea can be seen in physical form.  This is the basis for perseverance while working towards the achievement of a goal.”  Wow!  Now we’re getting into the need for faith and patience, a couple of virtues that many of us are just a little deficient in.  Does this never end?

Gee, I hope you’re enjoying this series as much as I am.  Seriously, this is not meant to discourage, but to equip.  Maybe the reality is a bit uncomfortable at times, but nevertheless, when it comes to these laws, ignorance is definitely not bliss.

Prayer Power
Lord, we’re so grateful that Your forgiveness covers the bad seed we sow.  However, we do understand that even though forgiven, we must still accept the consequences, or the harvest, of those bad seeds.  Grant us the grace to be ever more mindful as to the type of seed we sow each and every day.  Guide us in our choices.
