“Our lives are guided by nine divine laws that predict the outcome of every action. In order to reap the benefits of obeying those laws and avoid the penalties of disobedience, you need to know what they are.” Seni Hazzan
Who has more power to change their circumstances and why–the victim or the one who accepts responsibility for them?
Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you. (Mark 11:24; NAS
In my reading over the past several years, I’ve been exposed to many lists of so-called irrefutable laws. Of all those lists, I have found the list of nine by Hazzan (from his book, Rebuilding from Ground Zero) to be the most useful and consistent with my Christian world view. I thought I would share one or two of those fundamental laws through the next several DGs. Feel free to leave comments as you feel led.
These nine laws, much like the law of gravity, are not subject to our likes or dislikes, our belief or disbelief. As Hazzan says, “Their outcomes are certain regardless of our position.” And like the law of gravity, we can choose to accept them, understand them, and make them our allies or we can choose to ignore them and suffer a range of unpleasant outcomes up to and including death. It’s always our choice.
The law of creativity, aka law of faith, law of creativity, or law of thought is described by Hazzan by the following: “Simply stated, we are the architects of our lives; material abundance, physical health, and all other conditions around us are based on our belief systems and our thought patterns. All the spiritual blessings with which we have been blessed in the heavenly places can only materialize in the physical realm if we think the thoughts of faith that can manifest them in our lives. That is, we become what we think.” (see Prov. 23:7)
When you read that description, does your mind go into overdrive like mine did in an attempt to think of all the exceptions and “yes, but’s?” This law puts the responsibility squarely on each of us and makes us want to squirm out from under such a heavy load. But, I invite you to choose to look at this as a “good-finder” might see it. Gee, if it all comes down to my thoughts and not because of somebody else, I can change my thoughts and expect to see my outcomes change.
That’s why understanding these laws, even if they are sometimes uncomfortable and against conventional wisdom, is so important. When we begin to understand them, we can begin to use them as they were intended to be used–to serve us as our ally.
Prayer Power
Lord, open our minds to see the wisdom in these principles or laws. Give us the grace to lay down our defenses and explore how they might help us live our lives on a daily basis.
